The smoke alarm in this apartment does nothing.

There were actual flames bout half a foot high and everything this time. I had to beat it out with a damp dish towel. Masses of black smoke everywhere. No real damage though.

What's saddest about this is I was only trying to boil water for tea.

No candles anywhere in the room, lit or otherwise; it's just a reflection of the overhead light, but I thought it looked cool, so tah dah.
